National Stroke Association: Success Stories

World Stroke Day, 2021

In 2021, the Stroke Association of Kenya celebrated World Stroke Day by promoting:

  • Awareness of stroke prevention
  • Treatment and rehabilitation

The stroke charity organized community outreach programs, health fairs, stroke screenings, and social media campaigns to engage the public and increase knowledge about stroke.

Through these activities, the Stroke Association of Kenya aimed to raise awareness about the impact of stroke on individuals and families, as well as to provide information and support to those affected by stroke.

World Stroke Day 2020

For World Stroke Day 2020, the theme was to educate stroke survivors’ families.

The Stroke Association of Kenya organized a range of activities aimed at raising awareness about the challenges faced by stroke survivors and their families, and providing them with the information and support they need to cope with the effects of stroke.

These activities included:

  • Information sessions
  • Support groups
  • Workshops designed to help families understand the impact of stroke on the individual, as well as strategies for coping with the physical, emotional, and psychological effects of stroke.

By providing education and support to stroke survivors’ families, the Stroke Association of Kenya aimed to help them navigate the challenges of stroke recovery and improve their overall quality of life.

World Stroke Day 2019

For World Stroke Day 2019, the theme was “Building on our Abilities.”

The Stroke Association of Kenya organized a range of activities aimed at promoting awareness of stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, while also highlighting the abilities and potential of stroke survivors.

These activities included educational campaigns and community outreach programs, as well as events that showcased the achievements and successes of stroke survivors.

By emphasizing the abilities and strengths of stroke survivors, the Stroke Association of Kenya aimed to challenge the stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding stroke, and promote a more positive and empowering message about stroke recovery.

Through these activities, the Stroke Association of Kenya aimed to inspire and motivate stroke survivors to achieve their full potential, and to promote a more inclusive and supportive society for all.
