The Step-Up for Stroke Campaign Join us for 2026 Step-Up for Stroke Awareness Campaign, a flagship event that will be marking Stroke Awareness Month

Along with others around the world, we’re raising awareness of stroke

What is Step-up for Stroke

Step Up for Stroke is an annual stroke awareness campaign, that is more than a walk – it’s a full-day wellness experience bringing together survivors, families, healthcare professionals, corporates, and advocates to change the stroke story in Kenya.

Together, we walk. We heal. We thrive.

The Stroke Association of Kenya warmly invites the public, stroke survivors, caregivers, medical professionals, and partners to the 2026 Step-Up for Stroke Awareness Campaign, a flagship event marking Stroke Awareness Month. This year’s campaign focuses on empowering communities with knowledge, expanding access to rehabilitation services, and building stronger support networks for stroke survivors and their families.

This year’s theme revolves around three main objectives:

  1. Raising public awareness about stroke
  2. Promoting access to rehabilitation services
  3. Helping survivors and families join support groups for long-term recovery

Stroke is an emergency. Call 911 if these signs are present.

[F = FACE DROOPING] Does one side of the face droop, or is it numb? Ask the person to smile. Is the person’s smile uneven?

[A = ARM WEAKNESS] Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?

[S = SPEECH] Is speech slurred? Is the person unable to speak or hard to understand? Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence, like “The sky is blue.”

[T = TIME TO CALL 911] If you have any of these symptoms or see someone else having them, call 911 immediately!

Stroke is preventable, treatable, and survivable—when people have the right information and access to services. This campaign serves as a vital step toward a healthier Kenya by raising awareness and providing free health support to the community.

Join us as we unite to save lives, support survivors, and promote healthier living for all.
