On 2nd November 2025, the Kenya Stroke Society, in collaboration with the African Stroke Organization, hosted a vibrant 5 km walk/run under the inspiring theme #unSTROKEable. The event aimed to raise awareness about stroke, its devastating effects, and the importance of early recognition and prevention through the F.A.S.T. campaign — Face, Arms, Speech, Time.
The event brought together an incredible community of stroke survivors, caregivers, and advocates from the Stroke Association of Kenya (SAoK) and Wazee wa Dallas, alongside medical professionals and partners from the Red Cross, Pan African Center for Health Equity (PACHE), Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Nairobi Stroke Clinic, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), and the Kenya Association of Physicians (KAP).
The day kicked off with an energetic run at 6:00 a.m. followed by a walk at 8:00 a.m., culminating in an interactive health education session. Participants and the public were sensitized on how to recognize stroke symptoms using the F.A.S.T. campaign — and its Swahili version, UPESI (Uso umelegea, Pooza kwa mkono, Eleza na Simu).
The event received strong media coverage, amplifying the life-saving message of early stroke recognition and prompt medical action. The #unSTROKEable walk/run successfully strengthened community commitment toward a stroke-free and healthier Kenya.
