On Friday, 27th of June 2025, the Stroke Association of Kenya (SAoK) held a pivotal meeting with the physiotherapy unit of the rehabilitation department at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH). This meeting brought together passionate leaders, unit heads, and change-makersโall united by one goal:
- To strengthen advocacy
- Boost public awareness
- To advance patient education
- Empowerment in stroke care across Kenya.

But this was more than a meeting
It was a vision-sharing moment. A proposal for a long-term, impactful collaboration between SAoK and KNH’s physiotherapy team. A partnership designed not only to elevate stroke prevention and recovery efforts but to also ensure that survivors and their families receive the support, resources, and rehabilitation they truly deserve.
As we look ahead, we are excited about the possibilities this collaboration hold–for our healthcare system, for our communities, and, most importantly, for every Kenyan affected by stroke.
